What is the application process?
The following details a step-by-step process on how to apply to Chapeltown Academy, and what will happen following your application. If you have any queries about this process or would like to check up on an application you can email Doug Neal at applications@chapeltown-mlt.co.uk
1. If you attend a Sheffield school, apply through Sheffield Progress with help from your school. You’ll receive login details for our application portal, Applicaa. If you attend a non-Sheffield school, apply on our website (link coming soon).
2. Complete the application on Applicaa. Even if applying through Sheffield Progress, you’ll need to finish this step, though some info will transfer over.
3. You’ll hear from Chapeltown Academy about an invite to one of our interview evenings.
4. After the interview, you’ll receive an offer.
5. Accept the offer by following the instructions in the offer letter.
What grades do I need to be accepted?
These are bespoke for each subject, but basically 5s in the subject you are studying at GCSE or similar if a new subject at A level. Maths is an exception, for this its grade 6 and Further Maths a grade 8.
When is the deadline for applications?
Our application deadline is 31st January, the same as the Sheffield progress deadline. This will ensure that you shall be invited to one of our interview evenings.
What if I change my mind with courses I pick?
That is no problem at all! If it is before you start just email us on dneal@chapeltown-mlt.co.uk.
What will happen if I don’t get the grades?
Don’t panic! It may well be that we can offer you an alternative course or in the case of Maths and English Language, you can resit them.

I’ve received a letter with an offer. What do I do next?
