Work Experience

Work Experience at Chapeltown Academy

Work experience has the potential to provide very powerful learning, and we think it is very important to offer high quality experiences to maximise the outcomes for our students.

In year 12 all students will have the opportunity to have a week placement with an employer to show them a possible route their education will open up to them. There will be significant efforts to place students with providers.

Work experience is planned to take place from Monday 17th July Thursday 20th July 2023 (inclusive).

Benefits of work experience
  • Discover if employment in that area is for you
  • Learn what roles form part of the job
  • Help refine your future ambitions
  • Develop transferable skills
  • Learn how a workplace operates
  • Make contacts for the future

We aim to place students in jobs that are suitable to their ambitions, skills and subjects studied. Unfortunately, students may not be placed into their dream positions due to availability but should be able to gain relevant experience.
