Engineering
Chapeltown Academy is offering an exciting Engineering course. It will provide students with the opportunity to explore all aspects of engineering, solving actual real-life engineering problems through Maths, Science and design. The course would be suitable to all students, irrespective of gender or the qualifications gained at GCSE level.
You will learn the principles of engineering, which includes mathematics, science and electronics, this will be achieved through a range of theory, practical and teamwork activities. The course structure is based on units, which allows for a bespoke route and the opportunity for you to flourish and progress into your future desired engineering pathway. On successful completion of the course, you would have gained the skills and knowledge required, enabling you to study engineering at university, apply for technical apprenticeships or technician roles within the engineering industry.

From September 2023, we offer a BTEC single award Engineering course, which you can study with two other A Levels.

BTEC single award. Equivalent to 1 A Level.
Entry Requirements
The Academy’s general entry criteria of a minimum of five 4s at GCSE apply. A grade 5 in Maths and a grade 5 in combined science/separate science and/or BTEC Level 2 Merit is needed to study Engineering.
